About the Role

Northspire Careers is working with a well-established care provider to recruit an experienced and passionate Care Home Manager to lead and manage a residential care home.

This is a key leadership position for someone who is committed to delivering high standards of care, supporting their team and creating a safe, welcoming environment where residents can live with dignity, independence and respect.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the home, ensuring excellent care standards, effective team performance, regulatory compliance and a positive experience for residents, families and staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Take overall responsibility for the day-to-day management of the care home.
• Ensure residents receive high-quality, person-centred care.
• Lead, motivate and develop a team of care and support staff.
• Manage recruitment, induction, training, supervision and performance.
• Ensure care plans, risk assessments and other documentation are maintained to a high standard.
• Work closely with residents, relatives, healthcare professionals and other external stakeholders.
• Monitor staffing levels, rotas and workforce requirements.
• Ensure the home operates in line with relevant legislation, policies and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare for and support inspections and regulatory visits.
• Monitor quality standards and implement continuous improvement plans where required.
• Investigate and appropriately manage complaints, incidents and safeguarding concerns.
• Manage budgets, resources and expenditure effectively.
• Maintain strong relationships with residents and their families.
• Promote a positive, respectful and supportive culture throughout the home.
• Ensure health and safety, infection control and safeguarding procedures are followed.

Requirements

We are looking for an experienced Care Home Manager who can demonstrate strong leadership skills and a genuine commitment to delivering outstanding care.

You will ideally have:

• Previous experience managing a residential or nursing care home.
• Strong knowledge of adult social care regulations and best practice.
• Experience leading and developing care teams.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organisational and time-management abilities.
• The ability to manage challenging situations professionally and effectively.
• A genuine passion for improving the lives of residents.
• A good understanding of safeguarding, care planning and risk management.
• The confidence to work independently and make effective management decisions.

A relevant management qualification in Health & Social Care is desirable, along with experience working within a regulated care environment.
